Mike "Boz" Bosnic (1960 - 2023)

Our band mate for over 50 years has sadly passed away.

I met Boz at school when I was 6 years old, not realising I'd end up in a rock band with him to spend the best years of our lives together.

"The happiest guy in the room"

summed up Boz -

and it came across with his stage performance as he absolutely loved gigging,

and you could tell - he always looked like he was having a ball up there, because he was.

We are all gutted about his time being cut way too short and feel tremendously sad for his closest family members, his partner, Janet, son, Daniel and daughter, Nicolina.

He was always a joker (not always good jokes:) and loved nothing better than getting the acoustic guitars out with a few drinks, and jamming some old blues songs.

We figure he's up there now...looking down on us, doing exactly that.

Take care Boz. Love from the boys. xxxx

Mike was born in Corby, a tough working class steel town in the middle of the UK. Called "Little Scotland", Corby grew from a tiny village to a large town very quickly when Stewarts & Lloyds steel works moved down from Scotland to Corby to mine the iron ore in the surrounding countryside.

Mike's parents came from what was then called Yugoslavia and like many in Corby, they were working towards a better, wealthier life, which the steel works helped provide.

Mike attended Rockingham Primary School, where he met Iain at age 6. Mike was a clever student and a good footballer. Moving to Corby Boys School which then became Samuel Lloyd Comprehensive, Mikes love of music moved from his families accordion to the electric guitar, with him actually showing Iain how to play bar chords - Iain had just started playing guitar and was very impressed by Bozys obvious talent.

Whilst studying computer science, Mike joined with Stevie Fulton and Mark Stewart to form Energy and their first gig in the school hall attended by many of their mates - they of course went down a storm as Corby people love live music and are always appreciative.

Energy got the bug for performing and went on to play thousands of gigs all over the UK with Mike organising much of the logistics of touring.

Mike continued with the band to tour Europe, the Middle East and USA until they disbanded in 1989.

Mike's infectious energy and warm personality had touched the lives of many.

He had a way of lighting up a room with his genuine smile and witty sense of humour. He was a true friend, always there to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement to those around him.

When news of Mike's passing spread, a deep sense of loss settled over his friends and family, who were devastated by the emptiness left in his absence.

In Corby, the town that had shaped him into the person he became, Mike's name is spoken with reverence, and his memory will be cherished as a true ray of sunshine that had brightened the lives of those he had touched.

We are all missing you Mike.

Bozy on Bass

"Gargantuan grooves are just waiting to come alive as we enter Energy’s debut album Rock Party, and as we soon learn in the eight tracks comprising its totality, there isn’t any stop that this band won’t pull out in their mission to engage us with their broad-shouldered musicality.

“Rock Party” gets us rolling with brute force only to clear some space for the ominous bass lines and subtle pop rhythm of “This Part of Town is a No Go,”

The tenacious but tender melodicism of “Fight for Your Freedom,” a bittersweet electric ballad in “We Dream the Dream,”
